Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse, Police Station Miran Sahib achieved a significant success by arresting two alleged drug peddlers and recovering approximately 260 grams of heroin-like substance from their possession.
On 25-05-2026, acting on credible information, a case FIR No. 76/2026 under sections 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Miran Sahib against the following accused persons namely Hanief Choudhary S/o Gani R/o Ganda, Miran Sahib and Bhim Singh S/o Sewa Ram R/o Purana Pind, R.S. Pura, A/P Ward No. 12, R.S. Pura
During investigation and naka checking, both accused persons were intercepted while travelling in an Alto car bearing regd. No. JK02CS-6716. Upon search, approximately 260 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from their possession.
Both accused persons are Class-IV Government employees of the Agriculture Department, J&K, presently posted at Seed Multiplication Farm Chakroi, R.S. Pura.
The accused persons were arrested by Police Station Miran Sahib at about 2345 hours on 25-05-2026 and are presently in police custody. Further investigation into the case is underway to ascertain forward and backward linkages involved in the narcotics network.
