A major road accident occurred in the Ghagwal area of Samba district in Jammu and Kashmir, where a tempo carrying passengers overturned near the national highway, leaving 13 people injured.
According to reports, the vehicle was travelling from the Premandal area towards Amritsar. All the passengers onboard are said to be residents of Amritsar.
In the accident, eight passengers sustained serious injuries, while the remaining suffered minor wounds. Soon after receiving information, locals and police rushed to the spot and shifted all the injured to the Ghagwal hospital for immediate medical treatment.
Considering the critical condition of the eight seriously injured passengers, they have been referred to Jammu for advanced treatment, where they are currently undergoing care.
Notably, this is the second road accident reported in the same area within two days. Earlier, a person lost his life late at night after being hit by an unknown vehicle, raising growing concerns among locals over frequent accidents in the region.
Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
