Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday said the government will soon unveil a structured plan to regularise daily-rated and casual workers employed across various departments.
Addressing the Legislative Assembly, the Chief Minister said a high-level committee was constituted last year to examine the issue in detail, including its legal and financial aspects.
He assured the House that the government is committed to finding a fair and humane solution, and said a phased roadmap for regularisation would be announced after the committee submits its recommendations.
The move is expected to benefit thousands of workers who have been serving on a temporary basis for several years.
Omar Abdullah also acknowledged the contribution of ASHA and Anganwadi workers, describing them as the backbone of the public health and early childhood systems, and assured that steps would be taken to ensure the timely release of their honorariums.
Additionally, the Chief Minister announced an increase in the honorarium of vocational instructors working in the Union Territory.
