SHOPPIAN – Police have apprehended two individuals from the Kulgam district during a late-night operation in the Heerpora area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district. The arrests followed the recovery of “incriminating posters” from their possession.
Details of the Operation
Acting on specific leads, a team from the Heerpora Police Station conducted a raid in Heerpora village during the night. Upon searching the suspects, security forces discovered a cache of posters, leading to their immediate detention.

The authorities have formally registered a case under FIR No. 73/2025 at the Heerpora Police Station. The charges have been filed under:
- Section 13 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA)
Identity of the Accused
The two individuals arrested have been identified as:
- Ahsan Ahmad Wagay, son of Mohammad Shafi Wagay (Resident of Yarikha, Kulgam).
- Rahil Ahmad Bhat, son of Mohammad Amin Bhat (Resident of Lasio Bonpora, Kulgam).
