An investigation is underway at Government Medical College (GMC) Handwara following the immediate suspension of a Junior Resident doctor. The disciplinary action was triggered by a viral social media video showing a patient left unattended on a trolley outside the hospital premises.
Immediate Administrative Response
In response to the public outcry and the gravity of the footage, the hospital administration has launched a formal inquiry:
- Suspension: The Junior Resident involved was placed on suspension with immediate effect.
- Fact-Finding Committee: A five-member panel, consisting of senior clinicians and administrators, has been established to investigate the lapse in care.
- Time-Bound Report: The committee is under orders to reconstruct the sequence of events and submit a comprehensive report within 24 hours.
