A three-day Pulse Polio Immunization Campaign will be conducted across Jammu district from June 28 to June 30 to keep Jammu and Kashmir polio-free. The preparations for the campaign were reviewed by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Vidhu Shekhar during a District Task Force meeting.
More than 2 lakh children in the 0-5 years age group are targeted to receive oral polio vaccine during the campaign. June 28 will be observed as Booth Day, with over 1,200 vaccination booths set up across the district. On June 29 and 30, health teams will conduct door-to-door visits to vaccinate children who may have missed the initial round.
Special vaccination teams will also be deployed at railway stations, bus stands, and other crowded public places to ensure no eligible child is left out. Officials emphasized coordinated efforts and public awareness activities to achieve 100 percent vaccination coverage.
