A female pilgrim was rescued by the Jammu and Kashmir Police Mountain Rescue Team (MRT) after she fell from a pony at Sangam Top during the ongoing Amarnath Yatra on Friday morning.
According to officials, the incident took place at around 9:00 am when 32-year-old Radika, wife of Mahadev and a resident of Indore, Madhya Pradesh, lost balance and fell from a pony while proceeding towards the Holy Cave Shrine. The accident left her injured and in need of immediate medical assistance.
On receiving the information, the J&K Police Mountain Rescue Team (MRT) stationed at Sangam Top rushed to the spot and carried out a prompt rescue operation. The injured pilgrim was immediately shifted to the Medical Camp at Sangam Top, where she is receiving treatment under the supervision of medical staff.
Officials said the woman is being closely monitored by doctors, while the timely response of the MRT ensured she received immediate medical attention.
Jammu and Kashmir Police reiterated their commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all pilgrims undertaking the annual Amarnath Yatra, with Mountain Rescue Teams and medical personnel remaining on high alert throughout the pilgrimage route.
