According to the forecast, scattered areas of the Jammu division and a few places in Kashmir are likely to witness light to moderate rain or thundershowers during late night and early morning hours. Some areas of Jammu and Reasi districts may experience intense rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms.
From July 6 to 8, hot and humid weather is expected to continue, although one or two spells of light to moderate rain are likely across many parts of Jammu and Kashmir. Rainfall activity is expected to intensify in the Jammu division during late afternoon, evening and night hours, with isolated places likely to receive heavy rain and thunderstorms.
The weather pattern is expected to remain similar from July 9 to 11, with light to moderate rainfall forecast at many places and intense showers accompanied by thunderstorms possible in isolated areas.
Weather experts have also warned that heavy rainfall on July 6 and 7 could trigger localized flash floods, landslides and mudslides in vulnerable areas. People have been advised to avoid streams, seasonal rivulets and landslide-prone zones during periods of heavy rain and to follow advisories issued by the authorities.
