A large number of job aspirants gathered in Akhnoor on Monday as the Army Porter recruitment drive commenced, drawing candidates from different parts of Jammu and Kashmir. Long queues were seen outside the Akhnoor Heritage Museum, where the recruitment process is reportedly being conducted over a three-day period.
According to information circulating on social media, the recruitment drive is scheduled to take place on July 28, 29, and 30. Candidates arrived at the venue early in the morning, leading to heavy crowds and long waiting lines outside the recruitment centre.
The overwhelming response reflects the strong interest among local youth in employment opportunities associated with the Indian Army. Authorities were seen managing the crowd to ensure the recruitment process proceeded in an orderly manner.
