Jammu: In a major relief for commuters, the Kunjwani-Satwari flyover in Jammu has been opened to traffic in both directions, easing movement along one of the city’s busy road corridors. The development is expected to reduce traffic congestion and provide smoother connectivity for daily commuters.
The flyover connects the Kunjwani area with Satwari and Last Morh, helping vehicles bypass congested stretches. With traffic now permitted in both directions, commuters are expected to save considerable travel time, particularly during morning and evening peak hours.
Earlier, motorists frequently faced long traffic jams on this route, with the journey between Kunjwani and Last Morh sometimes taking around 25 to 35 minutes. With the flyover fully operational, the travel time is expected to come down to approximately 4 to 6 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.
The opening of both sides of the flyover is also expected to ease pressure on Satwari Chowk and nearby roads. Daily commuters, office-goers, students, traders and other road users are likely to benefit from improved traffic flow and reduced delays.
The project is part of efforts to improve road connectivity in Jammu and streamline traffic movement on important routes linked to the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway corridor.
With the flyover now open in both directions, commuters can expect a smoother journey, less waiting time at congested junctions and improved connectivity across this important stretch of Jammu.
