Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has dismissed allegations that regular government posts are being filled through outsourcing. Advisor to the Chief Minister, Nasir Aslam Wani, said all permanent government vacancies are filled only through the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) and the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) following a transparent, merit-based recruitment process.
Wani clarified that outsourcing is not a substitute for regular recruitment. He said it is used only to meet additional manpower requirements beyond sanctioned posts in departments such as Health, Agriculture, and Sanitation. According to him, these services are procured through transparent mechanisms, including e-tendering and the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal.
He further claimed that the outsourcing policy was introduced during the PDP-BJP coalition government (2015–2018) and that the present administration inherited the system. Wani said the opposition’s allegations that the current government introduced outsourcing for regular posts are misleading and baseless.
Addressing the media, Minister Sakina Itoo alleged that illegal recruitments had taken place in the Jammu and Kashmir Bank during the PDP-BJP regime and said the matter remains under investigation. Minister Javed Ahmad Dar also accused the opposition of misleading the public over the outsourcing issue.
