A team of Gandhi Nagar Police Station, along with an SOG unit, reached the Mini Market area near Green Belt Park in Gandhi Nagar to take action against suspected criminals.
During the operation, the suspects allegedly tried to flee from the spot and deliberately rammed their vehicle into the SOG vehicle. After this, the accused opened fire on the police team.
In response and in self-defence, the SOG personnel retaliated with controlled firing to ensure their safety and prevent any loss of life.
Soon after the incident, the entire area was secured and additional police forces were deployed to maintain law and order.
Police have taken cognizance of the matter and further legal proceedings are underway.
