Amid complaints from students over delays in receiving identity cards (ID cards), the Jammu & Kashmir Higher Education Department has directed all colleges to ensure timely issuance of student IDs. Director Colleges Education clarified that every student should be provided with an ID card immediately after the admission process is completed.
The department emphasized that ID cards are essential for student identification, security, and participation in academic and administrative activities. College principals have been instructed to streamline the distribution process and ensure that no student is left without a valid identity card.
The Director further stated that students should not be allowed entry into college campuses without a valid ID card. The move is aimed at improving campus security and ensuring students can smoothly access institutional facilities and services without unnecessary delays.
