In a major operation against the alleged illegal storage and black marketing of LPG cylinders, Miran Sahib Police in Jammu seized more than 150 gas cylinders along with gas refilling equipment during a raid in Gajia village.
According to police officials, the raid was conducted following credible information about the illegal hoarding of LPG cylinders and unauthorized gas refilling activities being carried out from rented premises in the area. During the operation, police recovered a large number of domestic LPG cylinders, commercial cylinders, and machines allegedly used to transfer gas from one cylinder to another.
Officials said the seized cylinders included several belonging to Indian Gas agencies. Investigators are now trying to determine the source of the cylinders and how they were being distributed in the market.
Police have launched a detailed investigation into the case and are working to identify all individuals involved in the alleged racket. Authorities stated that further details will be disclosed as the investigation progresses.
The operation has been welcomed by local residents, who often face delays in obtaining LPG cylinders, while illegal hoarding and black-market activities reportedly create shortages and inconvenience for consumers. Police have assured strict action against those found involved in the illegal trade.
