The Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) carried out a major anti-encroachment drive on Tuesday as part of its ongoing campaign to free the city from illegal occupation of public spaces. The action was conducted from New Plots, Janipur to Paloura Talab, during which footpaths and roadside areas were cleared and a large quantity of illegally placed goods was seized.
Following strict directions from Municipal Commissioner Dr. Devansh Yadav, the anti-encroachment team intensified its operations across the area. The drive began near Billu Wine Shop in New Plots and continued through Main Stop, Janipur, extending along the entire stretch up to Paloura Talab.
During the operation, footpaths and road edges were completely cleared of encroachments. Around half a dozen rehri carts, signboards, and various items placed outside shops were confiscated. Officials stated that such drives will continue to ensure smooth traffic flow and safe pedestrian movement across the city.
