An auto-rickshaw driver allegedly attempted to flee after being stopped by the ARTO team during a routine checking drive for carrying passengers beyond the permitted capacity. According to officials, the driver was asked to pull over, but instead tried to escape. The enforcement team chased the vehicle and managed to stop it on the spot.
In a video of the incident, officials can be heard saying that such situations are common during traffic enforcement, with some drivers trying to evade checks by fleeing or even attempting to break through checkpoints.
The ARTO officer said that if a driver has valid documents, follows fare regulations, and complies with traffic rules, there is no reason to run from authorities. He urged all drivers to cooperate with enforcement teams and strictly follow road safety regulations, adding that overloading passengers puts the lives of both commuters and other road users at risk.
