A shocking incident that has strained family ties has come to light from Jammu, where a former Panch allegedly lost his life after being attacked by his two nephews over a land dispute.
The incident took place in the Ghazia village of the Miran Sahib area in Jammu district. The deceased has been identified as Satender Kumar, a former Panch of the village. According to preliminary information, an argument over ancestral land reportedly escalated into violence, during which the accused nephews allegedly attacked their uncle with a sharp-edged weapon.
Satender Kumar sustained critical injuries in the attack, particularly to his arms and hands. He was initially rushed to Sub-District Hospital Bishnah for treatment and was later referred to Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu due to the severity of his injuries. Despite the efforts of doctors, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Police reached the spot soon after the incident, brought the situation under control, and launched an investigation. A case has been registered, and raids are underway to apprehend the accused. Officials said the exact sequence of events and motive behind the attack are being investigated.
