A tragic road accident took place on the Amritsar-Pathankot National Highway on Friday after a private bus overturned, leaving two students dead and five others injured, police said.
According to Station House Officer Rajwant Kaur, the deceased were around 23 years old and hailed from Jammu. Both were students at a college in Punjab. Around 10 students were reportedly travelling in the bus at the time of the accident.
Five injured passengers, including three who suffered head injuries, were rushed to a hospital in Gurdaspur for treatment.
Police said the exact cause of the accident is yet to be determined, and an investigation is underway.
