A section of the Himkoti route leading to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan has been temporarily closed following a landslide, with the Shrine Board taking precautionary measures to ensure the safety of pilgrims. Battery car services on the affected route have also been suspended until further notice.
According to Shrine Board officials, debris and rocks fell onto the track due to the landslide, prompting an immediate response. Restoration work is underway on a war footing, with machinery and personnel deployed to clear the route as quickly as possible.
The Board stated that the track will only be reopened after all debris has been removed, weather conditions improve, and a thorough safety inspection confirms that the route is safe for public use.
Pilgrims have been advised to follow all safety guidelines and use the traditional or other alternative routes to reach the Bhawan. The Shrine Board is continuously monitoring the situation and has urged devotees to check the latest route updates before proceeding with their journey.
