Kishtwar, July 3: A major road accident took place in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district on Friday after a gravel-laden tipper skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge in the Sohal area of Padder. One person lost his life in the accident, while three others sustained critical injuries.
According to officials, the deceased has been identified as Anurudh Singh (55), son of Nand Lal and a resident of Tiyari village. He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
The injured have been identified as Sapoot Singh (35), son of Dhanterar Singh, Deepak Kumar (30), son of Anurudh Singh, and Ravinder Singh (35), son of Girdhari Lal, residents of Tiyari and Ish Tiyari villages.
Following the accident, local residents and rescue teams rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation. The injured were evacuated from the gorge and shifted to the District Hospital Kishtwar, where they are undergoing treatment. Officials said all three are in critical condition.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated an investigation. The exact cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained, while further details are awaited.
