The annual Shri Amarnath Yatra 2026 has witnessed an overwhelming response from devotees, with more than 1.5 lakh pilgrims offering prayers at the holy cave shrine during the first week of the pilgrimage. The impressive turnout reflects the deep faith of devotees and marks one of the strongest starts to the annual pilgrimage in recent years.
Pilgrims from across the country have appreciated the elaborate arrangements made by the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board and the Jammu and Kashmir administration. Many devotees praised the smooth traffic management, efficient security deployment, medical facilities, sanitation services, accommodation, and the dedication of officials and volunteers ensuring a hassle-free pilgrimage.
Authorities said the yatra is progressing peacefully under multi-layered security arrangements, with continuous monitoring of both the Pahalgam and Baltal routes. Given the unprecedented rush, the administration has also urged devotees to travel only on their allotted dates and with valid registration to ensure the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage.
Officials expect the number of pilgrims to rise further in the coming days as thousands continue to arrive in Jammu and Kashmir to seek the blessings of Baba Barfani.
