The annual Shri Amarnath Yatra 2026 has crossed the landmark of 400,000 pilgrims, marking a significant milestone in this year’s pilgrimage to the Holy Cave Shrine in Jammu and Kashmir. The achievement comes despite temporary disruptions caused by adverse weather conditions earlier in the pilgrimage.
According to officials, more than 18,000 devotees offered prayers at the Holy Cave Shrine on Sunday, taking the cumulative number of pilgrims beyond the 400,000 mark. The steady flow of devotees reflects the unwavering faith of pilgrims from across the country.
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, who is also the Chairman of the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board (SASB), congratulated the devotees and appreciated the dedicated efforts of security forces, civil administration, healthcare workers, volunteers, and service providers for ensuring the safe and smooth conduct of the Yatra.
The pilgrimage, which resumed after a brief suspension due to heavy rainfall and unfavourable weather, is continuing under tight security and enhanced arrangements. Authorities have urged pilgrims to follow official advisories, check weather updates before travelling, and strictly adhere to safety guidelines throughout the pilgrimage.
