The District Administration Kishtwar has suspended the Shri Machail Mata Yatra 2026 and Shri Mindhal Mata Yatra 2026 for Tuesday, July 1, following adverse weather conditions across the district.
According to the administration, the decision was taken in view of continuous heavy rainfall, slippery road conditions, and the increased risk of shooting stones along the pilgrimage routes, which could pose a serious threat to the safety of devotees.
Authorities have advised all pilgrims not to undertake the yatra today and urged them to remain at their homes or other safe locations until further advisories are issued. The administration emphasized that the suspension has been imposed as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of all pilgrims.
The District Administration has appealed to devotees to cooperate with the authorities and follow official updates regarding the resumption of the pilgrimages. Officials stated that the situation is being closely monitored, and further decisions will be taken based on weather conditions and road safety assessments.
