As part of the ongoing Drug Destruction Pakhwada, the Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), Crime Branch J&K, today destroyed seized narcotic drugs worth more than ₹15 crore through scientific incineration at an authorized Common Bio-Medical Waste Treatment Facility in Vijaypur, Samba.
The destruction was carried out by the Drug Disposal Committee, headed by SSP ANTF J&K, in the presence of an Executive Magistrate and other committee members, strictly in accordance with the provisions of the NDPS Act and the guidelines of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
The committee destroyed a large quantity of seized narcotics, including 754.527 kg of Poppy Straw, 3.391 kg of Heroin, and 44.7 gms of Opium, ensuring their safe and environmentally compliant disposal.
The exercise reaffirms the commitment of ANTF Crime Branch J&K towards eliminating the menace of narcotic drugs by ensuring timely disposal of seized contraband, preventing its misuse, and strengthening public confidence in the criminal justice system.
ANTF reiterated its resolve to continue its relentless campaign against drug trafficking and substance abuse across the Union Territory.
