Residents and commuters in Jammu city are expected to get major relief from the daily severe traffic congestion on the busy and administratively important Ambphalla–Janipur road.
The Jammu and Kashmir Public Works Department (PWD) has prepared an ambitious plan to construct a modern and elevated flyover as a permanent solution to the persistent traffic problem in the area.
According to officials, the proposed flyover will stretch from Ambphalla Chowk to Roop Nagar T-Junction. The project is estimated to cost around ₹378.40 crore and is aimed at improving traffic flow on one of the city’s most congested routes.
Authorities stated that the flyover will not only ease vehicular movement but also play a key role in reshaping the infrastructure of “New Jammu,” marking a significant step toward modern urban development in the region.
