Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday said he has been closely monitoring the situation arising from the extremely heavy rainfall and flash floods that have affected parts of Jammu, particularly Rajouri town and its surrounding areas.
In a statement, the Chief Minister said he has been in constant touch with local MLAs and district officials since early morning to assess the evolving situation. He stressed that the administration’s top priority is to safeguard human lives and ensure the safety of residents in the affected areas.
Omar Abdullah assured that the government would provide every possible assistance to families impacted by the heavy rains and flash floods. He said all necessary measures are being taken to support those who have suffered property loss and other damages due to the flooding.
The Chief Minister also urged people to remain cautious, follow official advisories, and avoid venturing into flood-prone areas until the weather conditions improve. Rescue and relief operations are continuing as the administration closely monitors the situation across the affected regions
