Jammu: In a major boost to road infrastructure, the Jammu and Kashmir Government has approved the upgradation of the Satwari–R.S. Pura Road under the Special Assistance Scheme for Capital Investment (SASCI) at an estimated cost of ₹749.40 lakh.
The project aims to strengthen the existing road network, improve connectivity, and provide a safer and smoother travel experience for commuters. Once completed, the upgraded road is expected to reduce travel time, enhance traffic flow, and benefit thousands of daily commuters, residents, traders, and transport operators using the Satwari–R.S. Pura route.
The government said the initiative reflects its commitment to improving public infrastructure and accelerating development across Jammu and Kashmir. The road upgrade is expected to boost regional connectivity while supporting economic and commercial activities in the area.
According to the government, the project is being undertaken under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, with a focus on modernizing road infrastructure and improving the quality of life for the people. Officials stated that the work will help ensure better connectivity, safer transportation, and long-term development for the region.
The Satwari–R.S. Pura Road is considered an important arterial route, and its upgradation is expected to significantly improve commuting conditions for residents and visitors alike.
