Kishtwar, June 5: In view of the adverse weather conditions prevailing across District Kishtwar, the District Administration has ordered the suspension of both the Shri Machail Mata Yatra 2026 and the Shri Mindhal Mata Yatra 2026 for today, June 5, 2026. The decision was taken following continuous rainfall in the district, which has rendered several roads slippery and increased the risk of shooting stones and other weather-related hazards along the pilgrimage routes.
The administration stated that the safety and well-being of pilgrims remain its top priority. Devotees planning to undertake either yatra have been advised not to travel today and to remain at their homes or other safe locations until weather conditions improve and further advisories are issued.
Officials have urged the public to strictly follow the directions issued by the district authorities and avoid unnecessary movement in vulnerable areas. The suspension order has come into force with immediate effect and will remain in place until a review of the prevailing weather situation is conducted.
The District Administration Kishtwar has assured that regular updates regarding the status of the yatras will be communicated through official channels.
