Srinagar, July 6: The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) Special Mountain Rescue Teams deployed along the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra routes and at the Baltal and Nunwan base camps are continuing to provide round-the-clock humanitarian assistance and emergency response services to pilgrims undertaking the annual pilgrimage.
Stationed at key locations along the challenging mountain tracks, the rescue teams are assisting yatris facing exhaustion, health issues and other emergencies during the journey to the Holy Cave. The personnel are equipped to provide immediate first aid, stretcher assistance, emergency evacuation and other rescue services whenever required.
Despite the difficult terrain and changing weather conditions, the NDRF teams remain on high alert, ensuring that pilgrims receive timely support throughout the yatra. Working in close coordination with the Jammu and Kashmir administration, police, SDRF, health department and other stakeholder agencies, the teams are helping maintain the safe and smooth movement of devotees.
Officials said the deployment of Special Mountain Rescue Teams is a key component of the safety and disaster preparedness measures for the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026. Their continuous presence along the pilgrimage route is aimed at providing swift emergency response and ensuring that every pilgrim receives prompt assistance whenever needed, contributing to a safe, secure and successful yatra.
