July 7: As part of the ongoing Drug-Free Jammu and Kashmir campaign, the Reasi Police on Tuesday conducted a public auction of vehicles seized in cases registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the District Police Lines.
A total of four vehicles, including three four-wheelers and one Bullet motorcycle, were auctioned after completing all the required legal formalities.
The auction was carried out in the presence of the Drug Disposal Committee and interested bidders, ensuring complete transparency and fairness throughout the process.
The auction generated a total revenue of ₹4,40,500, which will be deposited into the government treasury in accordance with the prescribed rules.
Police officials said that the timely disposal of vehicles seized in NDPS cases not only prevents their deterioration due to prolonged storage but also sends a strong message to drug traffickers that strict action against narcotics-related crimes will continue.
