A local shopkeeper died on Monday after allegedly consuming a poisonous substance in the Sopore town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, officials said.
The deceased has been identified as Mehboob Hussain Langoo, son of Shamas-ud-Din Langoo, a resident of Iqbal Nagar, Sopore. He was a well-known businessman associated with the ‘Shams Pan House’ located at Main Chowk, Sopore.
According to reports, Langoo allegedly ingested the toxic substance under mysterious circumstances. As his condition rapidly deteriorated, he was rushed to the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Sopore for emergency medical treatment. Despite the best efforts of the attending doctors and medical staff, he could not be revived and succumbed at the hospital.
The tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the area, triggering profound grief among his family members, relatives, and the local business community.
